Following the interamerican highway from San José going to Liberia,
turn right before Rio Lagartos and head through the rocky road for about 35
kilometers. You will get to Santa Elena Town. In town you may find our main

Costa Rica Canopy Tour:
in which our clients traverse through cables and zip lines through the Cloud
Forest. The Canopy Tour consists of 15 cables and 18 platforms and takes approximately
2.5 or 3 hours. In this tour our visitors will be zipped through each of the
cables while attached to a top safety harness and using the best climbing gear
available. It is an adventurous tour that elevates adrenaline to the maximum
while keeping the safety level as the main goal. Selvatura Park Canopy Tour
is one of the safest adventures in Costa Rica. Our Canopy Tour guides will start
by dressing you with the appropriate equipment; then they will take you through
each of the 15 cables and 18 platforms and optionally through our very own Tarzan
Swing. Selvatura Park is one of the longest if not the longest Canopy Tour in
Costa Rica. Also it is the only one located inside the actual virgin cloud forest
of Monteverde. If you are looking for extreme adventures and amazing rides,
Selvatura Park’s Canopy Tour is your best choice. The Tour usually takes
between 2.5 and 3 hours and may be completed by people ranging between the age
of 4 and 99. It is safe for all people although some restrictions may apply.
Monteverde Cloud Forest Treetop Walkways:
simply the best way to observe the Cloud Forest Canopy with the advantage of
being able to take your time to observe each of the forest levels. This tour
may be taken either guided or self guided. Different fees apply for guided and
non-guided tours. The tour consist on a 1.9 mile trail that cruises through
the forest, along the trails our visitor will find each of the eight different
bridges that compose this bridge system. The lengths and heights of these bridges
vary between 170 feet and 560 feet in length and heights between 40 feet and
260 feet. Selvatura's Treetop Walkways is a 1.9 mile ( approximately 3 kilometer
) trail that crosses through the cloud forest, in which our visitors will walk
through eight different bridges from various lengths ranging between 150 feet
( 50 meters ) up to 510 feet ( 170 meters ) and altitudes ranging between 36
feet ( 12 meters ) up to 180 feet ( 60 meters ). Each of the bridges feature
a five foot width, the widest ones in the country, and also a capacity of up
to 80 people per bridge making them both the longest and strongest bridge system
in Costa Rica. The treetop walkways are suitable for people of all ages and
physical condition. Guided and self guided tours may be booked in advance, and
the duration of the tour is usually between 1.5 and 2 hours.
Selvatura Education Center:
where our visitors will be able to learn all there is to see inside the cloud
forest and will also be able to see some of the stuff they might have missed,
also they will be able to enjoy of the world largest private insect collection,
property of world famous entomologist Dr. Richard Whitten. Also they will be
able to observe exclusive footage of the cloud forest wonders inside our center’s
cinematic auditorium. Special tours are available for student groups. This tour
last’s about 1 hour.
Hummingbird Garden:
where our visitors will be able to observe more than 14 different species of
hummingbirds from the cloud forest. A treat for photography lovers and a spectacular
air show for anyone who loves nature. No time limit for this tour.
Cloud Forest History Walks:
In this walk you will learn about the natural history of Monteverde, about its
mammals, birds and its many plants, such as bromeliads, epiphytes, ferns and
all that concerns the cloud forest ecosystem. If you want to get the most of
the Treetop Walkways at Selvatura Park, let us suggest you to book a guided
tour.
Reservations are required for the Natural History Walks and the recommended
times for these walks are in the mornings. The tour takes between two and three
hours. Groups start from two people up to eight per guide. Bookings must be
done at least one day in advance.
Insect Museum:
Enjoy the world’s largest private insect collection. Take a close look
at thousands of insects, butterflies and other wonderous specimens from all
over the world presented in a way never seen before anywhere else. Appreciate
the exhibition “Jewels of the Rain Forest” by world famous entomologist
Dr. Richard Whitten who has been collecting insects since age five. This video
features insects from all over Costa Rica, most which can be found at Selvatura
Park. Come and capture the knowledge and enjoy one of the world’s most
beautiful Bio-art exhibitions at our World Class exhibition “Jewels of
the Rain Forest”.

At our restaurant El Jardín our visitors can enjoy our exquisite meals
in a rustic environment with beautiful views of Selvatura’s main garden.
It also offers options for those who are interested in having breakfast, lunch
or simply relax and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. Our Restaurant specializes
in pizzas, pastas and international food as well as typical food.
