Santa Rosa is a combination of an extense area of dry tropical forest, fauna and history. It was a cattle ranch, which hosted in the XIX century one of the most important battles in the Costa Rican history. The old house called La Casona that took part in this battle was consumed by a fire and now it has been rebuilt housing a museum. At this place you will learn important facts the natural history of the area. After visiting la Casona, we will have a hike through the trails of this tropical forest with high chances to see the abundant wildlife. For lunch we will drive to Liberia, the capital of the Guanacaste province, also known as the "White City" because of the white color on the roads due to the limestone content and the many white painted colonial houses. In Liberia we will find hospitals, stores and many other basic services. Duration: Full day. Includes: Roundtrip air conditioned transportation, entrance fee to the national park, english speaking tour guide and lunch.
