Our cabins are dramatically located on a bluff overlooking Ballena Marina Park,
the pacific coast and Caño island. This marine national park includes
the largest coral reef on the pacific side of Costa Rica. This wildlife sanctuary
protects different species of whales and dolphins together with other marine
life.
Our property features:
4 suites and 16 standard rooms (one specially equipped for handiccaped people).
All the rooms have private balcony with stunning ocean views, AC, fan, private
bathrooms, safe box, minibar, phone, sat TV and hairdryer.
The hotel features:
Two swimming pools: one for adults and one for children, a world class restaurant,
rainforest bar, observation deck, gift shop with local and international products.
We can offer you the best of both worlds: rich rainforest combined with abundant
marine life. Walk into the “green world” of inmense biodiversity
right on your doorstep. Trails wind through virgin jungle, home to a vast array
of amazing birds and mammals. Guided tours of Corcovado National Park and Caño
Island Biological Reserve allow you to further explore the magnificence of this
rainforest frontier to its fullest.
Marino Ballena National Park
The park is located by the southern pacific coast, between the mouth of Higuerón
or Morete river and Point Piñuelas, District of Ballena Bay, Cantón
of Osa, Province of Puntarenas. The terrestrial limits of the Park are designated
by the officially landmarks of the public inalienable zone, the marine/terrestrial
restricted zone and the natural border of the wetlands and mangroves. The marine
limit is an imaginary line that surrounds the reefs formed by the outer area
of Uvita Point, Ballena Island, Tres Hermanas, and its surroundings, originated
at the mouth of Higuerón or Morete river and ending at Point Piñuelas.
The Park has a surface of 5.375 marine hectares and 110 terrestrial hectares.
It was created on February 6, 1989 and was the first Marine National Park in
Latin America. This protected area preserves important habitats such as sandy
beaches, rocky beaches, estuaries, mangroves, cliffs, islands, rocky shoals,
Point Uvita and coral reefs, all of them important environments for the reproduction
of the marine biodiversity.
Excellent option to visit the Dominical area on the South Coast Way. The hotel
does not have a beach front but it has an excellent view to the ocean and to
the Coast line. In this area there are many interesting tours besides the Marino
Ballena National Park, like Corcovado and the Caño Island.
