It is located in the small town San Gerardo de Dota, from the kilometer 80
of the South Panamerican highway, 9 kilometers ( 5.6 miles ) west, 2 ½ hours
from San Jose.
Comfortable, simple and rustical, with private bathroom and hot water, heating.

This is one of the quiet and romantic places that everybody likes. Ideal for
relaxing or for a honeymoon in touch with nature. The place is cool and the
temperature can drop to 12 degrees centigrade. The restaurant offers excellent
homemade food served in family style. The cloud forest Rio Macho is a natural
habitat of great diversity of flora and fauna, especially good for birdwatching.
The quetzal is easily seen from December to March and ocasionally during other
months of the year. San Gerardo de Dota is located in the Talamanca Mountain
Range, near the Panamerican highway on the Cerro de La Muerte roadpass. It is
a precious and romantic valley with an oak forest at 6900 feet by the Savegre
River. Excellent birdwatching site and it has a very interesting montane rain
