Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge is located in Costa Rica's northern Tilarán
Mountain Range, province of Puntarenas at an altitude of 5000 feet above the
sea level where the continental divide between the Caribbean and the Pacific
is located. Local temperature from 15 to 26 degrees.
Located in a quiet & secure location, surrounded by 70 acres of private
property with primary and secondary forest, Cloud Forest Lodge offers 5 kms
of private trails where you can find more than 180 species of birds.
The Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge is located in Costa Rica’s northern
Tilaran mountain range, 5000 feet above sea level. Sitting right below the continental
divide, which separates the Pacific from the Atlantic side of the country, the
Lodge boasts spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and Nicoya Gulf.
Come and enjoy a quite and comforting time in our bungalow-style
bedrooms. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge’s 10 Bungalows ( 20 Rooms)
are surrounded by lush forest and beautiful gardens in order to create a tranquil
atmosphere for our clients. Each Bungalow comes complete with a private bathroom,
amenities, hot water, a double and single bed and a private patio where you
can appreciate the tranquil beauty of our surrounding gardens and forest.. We
truly are a mountain lodge, located upon 70 acres of primary and secondary tropical
cloud forest. We also have rooms for handicap (bathrooms and ramps).
The Cloud Forest lodge in Costa Rica is located close to nature,
far from the common noise and distractions of daily life. Our restaurant and
20 rooms are surrounded by 30 hectares of primary and secondary forest in the
magnificent mountains of Monteverde.
Our main building house a restaurant, bar and t.v. room. Our
bar, restaurant, television room and reading area are strategically located
so that our clients may enjoy impressive views of the mountains, the Nicoya
Gulf, and especially the sunsets.
Three miles of private and well-maintained trails traverse our property, which
is home to over 180 species of birds and other tropical wildlife.
The Original Canopy Tour is located on the property of the Monteverde Cloud
Forest Lodge, only a 10 minute walk from the main building. Our nature reserve
is extremely rich in biodiversity and contains hundreds of species of tropical
plants, birds, mammals and insects. The Original Canopy Tour consists of a system
of 10 platforms, 7 zipline cables, and 2 rappels. After walking a short distance
through the forest with a guide, the tour begins on a platform 22 meters above
the forest floor, perfect for observing the magnificent Cloud Forest. The client
is able to relax and enjoy the scenery while relying on our expert guides to
lead them on a safe and exciting tour through the tree tops. The elevation of
the platforms varies between 20 and 33 meters; therefore, the varied layers
of the forest will be experienced throughout the trajectory of the tour. As
Monteverde’s climate can be warm to cool, it is advisable that clients
wear layers as to fully enjoy their cloud forest experience.
Monteverde is characterized as being one of the most beautiful and important
natural areas in the world. Mammals, birds and reptiles abound in this mountain
paradise, where 240 species of orchids and 2500 species of plants are also found.
Steps for your hotel room at the cloud forest lodge, you will enjoy 4 kilometers
of well-maintained trails that wind through our private nature reserve.
While in our forest, you may encounter white-faced, howler monkeys, pizotes
and the quetzal as well as a variety of birds and butterflies.
