On a constant search to improve the services offered to our clients, on July
2000 Prego Motor de Costa Rica acquired the Europcar franchise.
Europcar Costa Rica is a Costa Rican company that began operations in 1989
under the name of PREGO RENT A CAR; name under which it operated until July
2000, when it became a proud franchise member of Europcar International, the
first Central American franchise for this company.
Operating under an important franchise allows us to offer costumers an on-line
reservations system, an excellent fleet of cars, a high quality standard, besides
the fact that our costumers obtain frequent flyer miles every time they rent
a car with us.

We offer a wide range of services to meet the most demanding tastes. Costumers
will find available in our offices:
• Infant seats: Available at an extra cost of $ 3.00 USD per day, we offer
seats for infants 5-40 lbs (2.2 kg-18 kg)
• Surf racks
• Ice chests / coolers
• Rain coats
• First aid kits
• Mobile phone rentals
• FREE Delivery / collection in the greater San José area, between
our 7 offices countrywide and in the Guapiles(Tortuguero). and Sarapiqui area
Special prices for deliveries to other areas in the country (price list available
– please inquire)
• Re-fueling services or pre paid gasoline available
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) personnel to assist with information &
recommendations
• ERA: Europcar Road Assistance, with 20 stations along the country to
assist emergencies and 24/7 emergency telephone hot line. Our costumers can
reach us any day, at any moment.
• FREE maps, directions and driving instructions.

| RENTAL
REQUIREMENTS |

Rental requirements Renters must meet the following basic requirements:
• Present a valid driver’s license
• Be 21 years or older (unless they take the Young Driver cover ( YDC
)
• Have an International Credit Card with a minimum credit of $ 750 USD
(Depending on car category) for deposit. No cash deposits are accepted. Major
credit cards are accepted.

Cancellations
All cancellations must be done in writing and the reply must carry Europcar’s
seal and signature.
Cancellation fees apply as follows:
High Season
Up to 24 hours prior to arrival: NO CHARGE
Less than 24 hours prior to arrival: 1 FULL RENTAL DAY
Low Season
Up to 12 hours prior to arrival: NO CHARGE
Less than 12 hours prior to arrival: 1 FULL RENTAL DAY
If the Agency does not have a credit line, prepayments must be in Europcar’s
account no less than 24 hours prior to passenger’s arrival, otherwise
full payment will be charged to passenger’s credit card.
Flight Information Europcar will guarantee passenger’s pick up at the
airport terminal only if the flight information (airline carrier, flight number
and arrival time) is provided with the reservation request, or at least 6 hours
prior to flight arrival.
Europcar’s service for terminal pickup is during normal office hours,
from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Passenger’s in delayed flights coming in after 10:00 p.m. should contact
our emergency service: 357-3838 once they arrive, in order to coordinate next
day hotel delivery.
Flexibility
Europcar grants one (1) hour (two hours in low season) for vehicle pick up after
the time specified in the reservation confirmation. After this time, the reservation
is cancelled and delivery is subject to availability.
Europcar also grants one (1) hour for vehicle return after the time specified
in the rental agreement. After this time, a charge of $ 10 USD per hour is applied.
A full rental day will be charged after 4 hours of overtime. All delays in vehicle
returnal must be coordinated with our reservations department.
No show
A NO-SHOW is considered when:
• The passenger with a confirmed reservation does not show up to one hour
after the time stated in the reservation document (unless amended by the customer
himself or the agency, prior to his arrival)
• Reservations are not cancelled in valid time (see cancellations above)
• Cancelled flights up to 24 hours after original arrival time.
• When the Customer is not registered in the Hotel or place that the Agency
has indicated for vehicle delivery (information will be verified with the Agency
prior to delivery departure)
In all of these cases a one rental day penalty will apply.
Responsibility
Europcar Costa Rica will not assume responsibility for any damage, loss or harm
to people or properties derived directly or indirectly by acts of Nature, detainment,
delays due to strikes, quarantines, civil disturbances, government regulations
and restrictions, road closings or any other which Europcar Costa Rica has no
direct control of.
