Romantic white sandy beach near the Tamarindo Estuary. Tamarindo
is one of the most famous beach destinations in Costa Rica. The long white sandy
beach and during low tide you can see reefs in some parts of the beach as well
as good swimming spots. The beach is very clean, this is the reason why it was
awarded with the Blue Flag in the year 2001. There is good surfing near the
estuary and in nearby beaches. Tamarindo offers a great variety of little hotels
and restaurants of all categories, as well as bars and pubs for entertainment,
mainly during the high season from December to April. It is perfect for those
who would rather go out and try different restaurants.

In Tamarindo you can enjoy horseback riding, tours to the estuary
by boat or kayak, seaturtle night tours and others. Like everywhere else in
Costa Rica, everybody should be careful while swimming in the ocean for undertows
You should always be able to touch the ground. You can reach Tamarindo using
the domestic airlines that fly daily. The land strip is only 15 minutes away
from the center of the little town. The hotels of Tamarindo are very well organized
and they provide a beach watch and emergency doctor as well as security staff.
