BEACH AND TOWN |

Jacó Beach is located in the Central Pacific Coast only
2 hours away from San José ( 102 kms ). This intensively vibrant beachside
town is sort of like Newport Beach in California with the heat turned up a couple
of notches, though there are not nearly as many people and buildings. The long,
sandy shore full of sand, surfers, young women in bikinis and all the rest -
the Baywatch of Costa Rica - is backed by a long strip of hotels, restaurants,
shops, bars, and lots of other businesses catering both Costa Rican and foreign
tourists. This beach is definitely the most heavily visited beach by Josefinos.
One of the principal attractions of Jacó is surfing, with the beach breaks
right out from of the town producing consistent surfable waves, and close proximity
to other excellent surf spots like Playa Hermosa and Playa Escondida. The highlight
of Jacó, however, is the night life. This place rocks every night of
the week almost all year round, with myriads of bars and nightclubs. Jacó
attracts a mix of surfers, weekenders and holidaying Ticos, from party-hearty
students to working-class families.
