Located at 21 miles North from the International Airport of Guanacaste, we
are within border of Rincon de la Vieja National Park. It is 10 miles in paved
road and 11 miles in gravel road passing Liberia and Curubande.
The rooms are simple, rustic with private bathroom and hot water. Rooms standard
and plus. The plus rooms are better conditioned than the standard.
Itself is almost a rustic museum, constructed of wood, with 50 double or multiple
rooms; 22 of them are superior or plus, all with private bath surrounded by
forest. There are bar, small pool, restaurant with typical food, scientific
library, insect & butterfly collection, serpentarium, telephone, fax service,
and T.V. area. We provide energy by falling water 24 hours a day. Quiet and
safe.
Six types of Tropical Forest, 900 acres Private Reserve, 11 attraction points,
30 miles of forest trails from 2100 f. above sea level to 6000 f. high. Horseback-riding
tours every day, tours with bilingual naturalist guide, archaeological areas,
volcanic attractions, 257 species of birds and 11.000 species of plants. Canopy
tour traversing from one point to the other, including a 40 meters sky walk
bridge, you can enjoy in the tour, if you decide so.
This lodge was born in a cattle ranch and nowadays is a very good destination
for adventure tourism. The ranch has many acres of pasture land and primary
forest with horse trails and for hikes to secluded ponds and waterfalls. The
canopy tour is excellent. The activities include hiking in the forest, canopy
tour, sulphur hot springs, horseback riding, fumaroles and hot mudpots observation
and hard trekking. Most of the activities in this area require a minimum of
good physical condition and are adventure oriented.
